National Honor Society Purpose & Objectives

The National Honor Society was created as a concrete way to promote high school academic standards, a means of ensuring the continuation of democracy, and an instrument for the betterment of the individual and the school. Its objectives are to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character. Newton juniors and seniors who are academically eligible may pursue membership in the organization.
