The Honored Classes were: 1949, 1954, 1964, 1974, 1984, 1999, and the newest
Class of 2024. The Class of 2026 helped to serve and Laura Country Diner
provided a delicious meal. There were 142 Newton Alumni who attended the
banquet.
Entertainment for the evening was provided by the Newton High School
Choir under the direction of Ms. Sasha Butanis. Jayla Leland a member of
the choir graced us with a solo on her guitar. We all enjoyed both
performances!
Danielle Davis announced the newest member to the Newton Wall of Fame,
Pat McBride. He was our previous Superintendent for 17 years, as well as a
Teacher and Athletic Director. Pat was instrumental in building our new
school in 2010. He spent many hours talking to community groups to explain
why this facility was needed. Pat was added into this unique group of
enthusiastic supporters of our school and community.
Mrs. Davis announced the inductees into the Newton Athletic Hall of Fame.
Don Cress ’45 received an award as the Oldest Attending Alumnus and was
presented a gift from the Alumni committee. Don said he hadn’t written a
check in years and wanted to know if he could pay for his reservation using
Venmo! Maybe next year! Alice Oburn Garber Dole, Class of 1960 from
Ripon, California received a certificate for the Alumnus who traveled the
most miles to attend!
Many generous scholarship donations from the alumni allowed us to give five
scholarships which were awarded to members of the class of 2024.

The 2025 Alumni Banquet will be held May 10, 2025 at 6 PM.
Please make sure the committee has your correct address.
Next year, we will plan to go paperless, which means we need your email.
