Superintendent's Message

Superintendent's Message

A Message From The Superintendent:

August 10, 2023

Dear Newton Community,

It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter as your new Superintendent.  I am humbled by the trust the board has placed in me to lead and serve this school district. I am truly honored to move into the role of Superintendent in a school district that I have called home for the last 23 years.

I would like to express my gratitude to my predecessor, Pat McBride, for his dedication and hard work, which has laid a strong foundation for our school district's success. I am committed to building upon his legacy and taking our district to new heights.

I completely value the programs and services that we already have in place, and I am committed to building upon past practices to ensure that current and future students have opportunities to explore their interests and find their true passions.

Mr. Gavin Spitler, former Newton Assistant Principal, will move into  the role of Principal of Grades 7-12.  Mrs. Laurie Grube, who most recently served as Principal/Director of Student Services at Milton Union Schools, will move into the role of K-6 Principal.  We are very fortunate to have both of these individuals leading their respective buildings.

It is an exciting time for Newton Schools, and I’m looking forward to the year ahead!
