Sep 21 - 71st Annual Newton Homecoming Ceremony
The 71st Annual Homecoming Ceremony will be held Friday Night September 21 at 6:30 PM at the High School Soccer Complex.  There will a parade prior to the homecoming.  The HS Boys Soccer team will play Miami Valley School after the ceremony at approx 7:15PM.
On Saturday, Sept. 22, there will be the Homecoming dance in the Cafeteria from 8 - 10 PM.
 
The homecoming theme is "Tis the Season for Winning!"  (Christmas themed floats) 
 
Spirit Week Attire:
Tues: USA Day
Wed: Camo Day
Thurs: Tie-dye Day 
Fri: Hawaiian Day 
 
Parade/Event Info: 
 
5:30pm - Parade line-up in front of school
6:00pm - Parade Starts - 10-15 minutes to complete. Parade route will start at the school parking lot, heading south on Maple St. then east on St. Rt 718 then turning on Brethren Dr. and heading into the Community Park following Tony Fessler Dr. around to the Locust St. entrance to the back of the school.
NOTE: ENTRANCES TO SOCCER FIELD WILL BE BLOCKED OFF FROM APPROXIMATELY 5:55-6:15PM)

6:30pm - Homecoming Ceremony - 25-30 minutes (MIAMI VALLEY WILL HAVE ACCESS TO OUR PRACTICE FIELDS TO WARM-UP DURING THIS TIME)
6:55pm - Boys' Soccer Warm-up Starts
7:15pm - Boys' Soccer Game Starts 
 
Contingency Plan if Bad Weather: 
If we need to move to this contingency plan, it will be announced via the school’s Twitter account by 4:30pm
 

A contingency plan for Newton’s outdoor Homecoming activities has been implemented because of the predicted rain/storms for Friday evening.  In the event of rain and/or storms, the schedule will be as follows:

 

5:30pm – Floats will be available for viewing in the school parking lot.

6:00pm - Parade CANCELLED

6:30pm - Homecoming Ceremony in the HIGH SCHOOL GYM

7:15pm - Boys' Soccer Game Starts and will follow normal weather protocol set forth by OHSAA.

 

Newton staff will continue to monitor the weather forecast closely and evaluate conditions throughout the morning to determine if the environment is safe for participants and staff.
