Congratulations to the High School Marching Band on achieving the highest possible rating at State Finals competition Sunday. Awarded straight superior ratings, our band is the only one in the entire state from a small school to achieve this top rating.

 

The Fall Sports Awards Program will be held tonight at 6:30pm in the JH gym. 

 

The Cross Country Team finished their season this past weekend with Ben Hoover placing 18th in the Regional Meet. Great race Ben!

 

FCCLA Officer meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 30 after school in Rm H205.  Please let Mrs. Burnside know if you cannot attend.

 

Attn. Leo Club members! The T-shirt order is in. If you would like one, bring your $4 to Mr. Davis and pick one up before they are gone!

 

Junior high and highs school students, please join Student Council on Tuesday, October 30th and pay $1.00 to dress up for Halloween.  All proceeds will be donated to Heart & Soles.  The best 3 costumes will be awarded prize money.

 

Attention junior high and high school students:  Newton Drama Club is already gearing up for the spring play.  We are looking for dancers, choreographers, make-up artists, set and prop designers, as well as actors and singers.  Join us on Remind to stay in the loop for upcoming dates, announcements, meetings and auditions.  See sign posted outside Ms. Short’s room for sign up information.

 

Thank you for donating last week to the “All for Books” coin challenge.  You exceeded all expectations by giving a total of $1033.12.  The grade level in 3rd place is third grade by donating $156.78.  In 2nd place is second grade by donating $203.49.  The winning grade level of this year’s coin challenge is 1st grade.  They gave $278.23.  A big shout out to everyone for being so generous this year and an extra huge shout out to 1st grade!

 

The Book Fair begins today.   Teachers, don’t forget that today is teacher preview day.  Stop in at the book fair and make out your classroom wish list.  Students, the “get caught reading” challenge begins today.  Get started reading.  Maybe you’ll be caught reading and be one of tomorrow’s winners of the reading challenge.
