Boy's Golf Has Record Breaking Season
The Newton Boys' Golf Team and Coach Randall Jamison have been able to produce a record breaking season despite the sometimes unpleasant weather this fall. They have been part of four invitationals throughout the year and placed 2nd in the first two and placed 1st in the last two. They are undefeated in head to head matches, which include all conference opponents. In addition, there are four records they have eclipsed. On Monday the team broke the low score record of 153 with a 151 and Chet Jamison broke the 9-hole individual low score record of 32 with a 31. Then last night they were able to end the best regular season in Newton Boys' Golf history by breaking the team average record and Chet was able to break the 9-hole season average record.   The Boys' Golf Team won the D-III Boys' Golf Sectional Golf Tournament at Turtle Creek. The boys beat out the 2nd place team by 25 strokes. Congrats to Chet Jamison (78) and Garrett Peters (84), who shot the two low scores for the day!! The team also won Districts which earned them a spot at State.
