Statement of Purpose: For distinguished and significant contributions to the pupils and/or programs of the Newton Local School District and for promoting education in a manner that has enhanced the prestige of the community.
May be granted annually to no more than a total of three persons, who may be selected from any or all of the following categories:
- Current or former certified staff members
- Current or former non-certified staff members
- Current or former community members
- Current or former Board of Education members
- Alumni of Newton Local School
Nominations for the award are to be submitted in writing and should include approximate time of service/involvement as well as reasons why this person should be considered as a Hall of Fame candidate.
Selection Committee:
- A non-certified representative - 2 year term
- A teacher representative - 2 year term
- A Board of Education member - 3 year term
- A member of the Administration - 3 year term
- A citizen from the Community - 2 year term
- A member of the Band Boosters and Athletic Boosters to serve on a rotating alphabetical basis for each club - 1 year term
- A member of the student body of the high school (Senior Class President) - 1 year term
A file relative to the “Hall of Fame” shall be maintained in the Superintendent’s office with any plaques, etc. displayed in the building
