Alumni Association
Every graduate of Newton High School is a member of the Newton High School Alumni Association. The major activity that the Alumni Association puts on is the Annual Newton High School Alumni Banquet which will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018.
 
The Banquet will begin promptly at 6:00 pm in the Newton Jr. High Gym with a catered meal.  An Alumni update and program will immediately follow the dinner.  There will also be a 50/50 drawing.  Each year we honor classes who graduated 75 Years ago (Class of 1943), 60 Years ago (Class of 1958), 50 Years ago (Class of 1968) and 25 Years ago (Class of 1993) and the current senior class of 2018. 
 
Invitations are usually mailed in late March, early April.  If it is mid-April and you have not received an invitation for an Alumni Banquet, the Association may not have your current address. Please send any address corrections or death notifications to Newton Alumni Association, PO Box 531, Pleasant Hill, OH 45359 or send us an e-mail with the subject Alumni. Please include your graduation year and maiden name, if applicable.

All meetings will be at 6:30 PM in the Media Center of Newton Schools.  Enter via the High School entrance and the Media Center will be on the right as you enter the foyer area. 
The 135th Annual Newton Alumni Banquet a Success!

The 135th Annual Newton Alumni Banquet was held on May 13, 2017 at 6:00 pm in the Junior High gymnasium. Alumni honored classes who graduated 75 years ago (Class of 1942), 60 years ago (Class of 1957), 50 years ago (Class of 1967), and 25 years ago (Class of 1992). The graduating class of 2017 was also inducted into the alumni.

Ruth Rench Flory, a graduate of the class of 1937, was the oldest attending member and was given a Newton puzzle, while six members of the class of 1942 were able to attend and received a Newton History Book.  Jason Graham was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a former band director.  Scholarships were given to Blair Wehrley ($1000), Kassidi Alexander ($500) and Jackson Riffle ($500).  Riffle provided a performance on the xylophone as the entertainment for the evening.  The sophomore class set up and took down the tables and chairs and the meal was served by Batdorf's Red Barn Catering Service.  Next year's Alumni Banquet will be held on Saturday, May 12.

Newton Athletics' Hall of Fame

The Newton Athletic Department, in collaboration with Newton Local Schools and the Newton Athletics Hall of Fame Committee, is proud to announce that we will honor our former athletes with a Newton Athletics Hall of Fame. We will be accepting nomination ballots on or before March 1, 2017. If you wish to nominate an athlete, coach, staff member, and/or team the nomination ballots are available in the Newton HS Office, on the Newton Local Schools’ website,  Athletic Hall of Fame Nomination Form and on the Newton Athletics’ website, http://oh.8to18.com/NewtonLocal. The link on the athletic site is down the left hand side of the page under Resources and is named Hall of Fame Nomination Form. Please mail completed nomination forms to Gavin Spitler – Athletic Director, Newton High School, 201 N. Long St. Pleasant Hill, OH – 45359. There will be a maximum of eight candidates inducted the first year, six the second year, and four for each subsequent year. Selections will be finalized and announced at the Newton Alumni Banquet on the second Saturday in May. The inaugural induction ceremony will take place during the winter sports season of the 2017-18 school year.

Applications for the 2017 Newton Hall of Fame Award will be accepted through March 1, 2017.  Who do you think has made a positive impact on Newton Local School?  You may fill out an application online to submit your nomination. We are continuously updating the address database and would appreciate any address and/or name changes. If you or someone you know graduated from Newton High School and has not received an invitation in recent years please let us know.
